Me, NOW:
PoorReception has undergone changes.
I’ll keep the old about me here – but I’ll give an update.
Ahem: I’m a perpetually awkward, extremely motivated Corporate Development Manager at a company I adore. I love what I do — a welcome change from the receptionist days. I love writing, singing/piano/my band, music, reading, fashion, cooking, home design, movies, opera, theatre, animals, and my family.
I’m learning to love running, cleaning, waking up early, and staying home on Friday nights.
I’m still a wannabe rockstar, a shoe collector, a Republican (but not an evil one – yes, we do exist. No, we do not hang life-sized posters of George Bush [1 or 2] or Joe the Plummer in our homes. Trust me, we were embarrassed, too), a happy wife, an ambitious dreamer, and a work in progress.
I still don’t like brussels sprouts, Dave Matthews, the word “Secretary,” people who expect women to be weak, people with an overactive sense of entitlement, or bugs.
PoorReception BEFORE:
Like so many others, I graduated college with glowing recommendations, high hopes, a truck load of debt, and empty pockets.
I’m a disorganized writer-designer-actor-musician-chef-teacher hopeful, a wife, a mother to two cats and eight thousand future children, a bargain-shopper, a wannabe homeowner, a book junkie, a movie lover, and a Republican.
Now, don’t worry – I’ll never ask you to believe what I believe, but I’ll kindly ask you to let me speak my mind.
I’m pretty interesting. And, because this blog is to serve as shameless, unabashed self-promotion for my as-yet-nonexistent writing career, I request that you embrace me, love me, and – perhaps someday – pay me.
Is that really so much to ask?
